Florence back's the Forest for Cornwall

Florence MacDonald, Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle has launched a campaign backing Cornwall Council's emergency climate plan and the new Forest for Cornwall.

In addition to planting 10 million trees as part of the Forest for Cornwall the emergency climate plan proposes:

Energy efficiency improvements to Cornwall Housing homes, helping reduce fuel poverty for residents on low incomes.

An increase in employment opportunities through the promotion of renewable energy, environmental growth and energy-efficient homes.

Florence Macdonald said: "I am really thrilled Cornwall Council are leading the way in tackling climate change in the South West.

"A Forest for Cornwall will be a fantastic for capturing carbon and add to the natural beauty of the peninsula

"It will also provide a great leisure resource for local people. A win way situation. hope people will sign my pledge to Back the Forest!"
